Graduation

Graduation ceremonies are held once a year at the turn of the month May/June. To be eligible for graduation students must apply for graduation before March 15 and have paid all debts to the Academy. Students who are missing 6 ECTS or less to be able to graduate may apply to the rector for an autumn graduation (September 15th) or for an winter graduation (January 15th). Applications for autumn graduation must be submitted before June 10 and for winter graduation before November 15. A special charge may be applied for the extra costs involved. Special rules apply for the final project, see p.6, article 21.

At graduation, all IAA students receive a Diploma Supplement. The Diploma Supplement is issued in a widely spoken European language (English), given automatically and free of charge to every student upon graduation.  The Diploma Supplement (DS) follows a model developed by the European Commission, Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES. It is a precise description of the academic curriculum and of the competencies acquired by the student during his/her studies at the IAA. The purpose of the supplement is to provide sufficient independent data to improve the international transparency and academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates, etc.). As such, the DS improves IAA graduates’ access to education and work elsewhere in Europe.
